The past month has been really busy - I picked up a couple of side jobs, worked my full time job, was in Missouri and then up in Duluth, MN within a 48 hours, and while doing all that, I was putting together my online shop!
So yeah, I’m a little dead on the inside and outside. I’m also really stressed out because I’ve only ever sold on Etsy before but so much has changed on that platform since I started using it in 2013 that I decided it was better to just have my own shop on my website. Now instead of posting like 59 URLS of where you can buy my art, it’s all in one place. It feels more official; more professional. I just hope I set up payment and shipping correctly! Once I get all of those things figured out though, I think it’ll be a lot better than Etsy.
Right now there’s prints, buttons, and shirts available in my shop. I really want to expand my product line, but finding print-on-demand services that are both quality and offer a variety of products. I’d like to offer stickers, planners, notecards, and similar things but that’s not available yet with the company I chose. I have time to figure that out.
All I know is that it’s really cool to have people excited about the stuff I draw! It means a lot. And I don’t think I’m super cut out for the 8-5 office world, so it gives me hope that someday I can draw from the comfort of my own home. In Minneapolis. With my dog.
Sometimes I feel like a dumb dumb and that my art is total poop compared to other artists, but different people like different things and they say variety is the spice of life and my little weird drawings just add a little variety, some nostalgia, and more art to the world.
OKAY THANKS BYE!
