About ME

Hi there! If you’re reading this, it’s probably because you’re looking for some help with the design of a project. That's pretty cool and I'd like to help you out. Here's a little information about myself:

I’ve had an interest in art pretty much forever, but didn’t start doing graphic design related things until 2014 when I enrolled at the University of Northern Iowa’s graphic design program. From there, I took a bunch of classes on subjects like book structures, publication design and typography. I was fortunate enough to have internship on campus working for the Gallagher Bluedorn where I created print and digital assets for upcoming shows. Working there was fun and fast-paced, with multiple shows each month.

I also worked part-time for a local tuxedo company where I lead an entire re-brand and redesign of the big wholesale catalog that gets sent out to hundreds of stores each year. It was challenging, but a project that taught me a lot not only about the design process, but the printing process as well.

During my time at the University of Northern Iowa, I won a few awards for my projects. My  Minnesota-side feels braggy about telling you about these, but people tell me it's important and that I should. So here's some of the awards I've won for my design:
-2017 National Silver ADDY Winner: Book, Tales From The Break Room

-2017 Cedar Valley ADDY Student Best of Show: Book, Tales From The Break Room

-2017 District 9 Silver ADDY Winner: Book, Tales From The Break Room

-Spring 2017 UNI Communications Award Winner: Book, So Your Dad Wants To Be a Model?; Book, Patterns; Book, Imperfect Monsters

I also won the Perfect Attendance award when I was in second grade.

I currently work for a local credit union in town where I create materials for events. It’s been a pretty great experience so far. When I’m not at work, I’m usually hanging out with my dog, Kevin, and cat, River. We watch a lot of TV shows including The Office, 30 Rock, Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Parks and Rec. I also enjoy eating a lot, mostly chicken nuggets and sub sandwiches. Sometimes I'm able to sneak out of Iowa for a few days and go to a concert or two.

Some fun facts:

-I worked as mascot for a few years and it was one of the most fun jobs I’ve ever had.

-I went to art school for a year but it was mad expensive and it was a little too weird for me. One time I saw a kid make an art project out of his ex-girlfriend's hair. That creeped me out.

-I won tickets to see Saturday Night Live in the fall of 2017. Read about it here!
